I'm not thinking of "apotheosis," which is more about human beings becoming gods. It was more about experiencing what a god would experience.

Perhaps the word you can't recall is "enthousiazein" (ἐνθουσιάζειν), used by Plato many times (enthousiontes, enthousiazontes, enthousio, enthousiastikos, etc), meaning those who become full of God and express this "enthusiasm" in some form of art - music, sculpture, poetry, prophecy, etc.
