i pretty much have the greek vocabulary memorized and can translate original greek letters to english. my problem comes in knowing what to try to read in the gnt. i also am having extreeme difficulty with the grammatical terms. can anyone help me?

It's not enough to know the letters and memorize some words, you also need to learn grammar and syntax.

That's not enough to learn Greek... think of English... knowing the words and how to pronounce the letters is not enough to know the language.

There are tenses... which aren't easy to learn. There's also the matter of conjugation which is what's difficult for me right now.

I don't know how much you know exactly... But I think the second thing anyone should learn after the alphabet are the personal pronouns:

I = εγώ
you = εσύ
he/she/it = αυτός/αυτή/αυτό
we = εμείς
you (plural) = εσείς
they(masculine)/feminine/neutral = αυτοί/αυτές/αυτά

after that comes the verb to be, and then you can learn the simple present tense. It's not a good idea to jam your head suddenly with so much information. :)

Take it step by step! Right now I'm at the phase where I need to expand my vocabulary to practice the things I've learned thus far.
