And this single, most distant and mountainous characteristic Color, receives in the air above it and in the earthy matter before its feet the showers of Gold, from above and below, it receives kisses of gold, it is gold-rayed, gold-washed, gold-flowered, gold-burned in golden wreaths of clouds, to exploded fireworks of gold-needled pine woods, goldflowing streams of gold-blinded love of seas; and the gold-colored kisses from the deeper goldcherryflamed and goldredfired to the brightest gold-lightings of airs, run everywhere, gold-writing, goldyellowing, gold-dying or gold-shining. And going from the more generic and typical to the more particular and rare, the pink and blue widenings and flowerings, give joy and pleasure to the Blue, the Silvers ennoble, the Golden and redflaming are heroic, the emerald and pignut, acacia or lemon-colored give forth poetry and the dark, ash-colored, brownish crossings make gloomy the sky-Blue Sight.
