“ Prayer is better than running and a church is more noble a place than streets. But in your deeds keep an equal mind, equal faith, equal love for your God, and equal seriousness. Be sure, if you were keeping your mind equal this way, nobody would stop you from having constantly the presence of God. But if God is not this way trully inside a person, and He has to enter from outside, from this and that, - if a person looks for God without equal mind, whether in certain deeds or in other persons or in places, then this man has not found God... Hence, he is not only bothered by a bad company – even kindness is an obstacle for him; not only streets, but even the church, and not only the bad talks and deeds but even the good talks and deeds; because the obstacle is inside him, because inside him God has not become all things.”

“ We must not worry so much what to do, but rather worry what we are. If men and their ways were good, their deeds would be very bright. If you are just, your deeds will be just. Don’t think how you will put holiness into a deed - you should put holiness into your being, because we don’t become holy from our deeds, but we ourselves make our deeds holy ... whether it is about food, or sleep, or awaking or whatever. Whoever don’t live significantly, whatever they do has no value at all.”

“ Who was more beloved to Him and had a closer relationship with the Lord than the Apostles? Yet, none of them escaped from deadly sin, they were all deadly sinners. He has shown this often in the Old and in the New Testament, for those that He was going to love much more. Even now, seldom one finds men who arrive in greatness without having made sins. The will of the Lord in this is for us to understand His great mercy. He wants to move us to a greater and true humility and faith. Because when repentance is renewed, love too grows much and is renewed.”
