HE inaccessible Word, the bread that comes down from heaven, is not contained sensually, but rather He contains and touches and without commixture is united with the worthy and well prepared to receive Him.

Christ averted that sword and opened the entry and in the whole world planted the tree of life, rather He gave us the power to plant it every day, the tree that grows instantly and brings eternal life to all who eat of it.

ἁγία κοινωνία

Ὁ γὰρ ἀπρόσιτος Λόγος, ὁ ἄρτος ὁ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβαίνων, οὐ περιλαμβάνεται αἰσθητῶς, ἀλλὰ συμπεριλαμβάνει μᾶλλον αὐτὸς καὶ ἅπτεται καὶ ἀσυγχύτως ἑνοῦται τοῖς ἀξίοις καὶ καλῶς εὐτρεπισμένοις πρὸς ὑποδοχὴν τὴν αὐτοῦ.

Χριστὸς καὶ τὴν ῥομφαίαν ἐκείνην ἀπέστρεψε καὶ τὴν εἴσοδον ἤνοιξε καὶ ἐν ὅλῳ τῷ κόσμῳ τὸ τῆς ζωῆς ξύλον ἐφύτευσε, μᾶλλον μὲν οὖν καὶ καθ' ἡμέραν τοῦτο φυτεύειν ἐξουσίαν ἡμῖν δέδωκεν, ὃ καὶ ἀθρόον αὐξάνει καὶ ζωῆς αἰωνίου πᾶσι τοῖς ἐσθίουσιν ἐξ αὐτοῦ πρόξενον γίνεται.
