Prologue: The dream(2'24'')

The perfect dream we've already talked about (see above).

 

First act: Learn of leave (3'19'')

Charles comes to ask McLeod to become his tutor. Like a good Latin teacher he demands trust as discipline and orders Charles to dig a hole. It is the first act of a play in which gradually McLeod attempts to be a teacher again, to remove the mask and let his memory work in the present of a person. He is still distant - an empty space must be covered before a face begins to laugh.
