I love this book so much, but became confused today at the letter in Chapter 17 (Somebody turns up) written to David by Micawber. It sounded as if he is a "Beggared Outcast" as his signiture indicates as well.
This made David feel bad for him, but then he spots Mr. Micawber eating walnuts looking happy with a bottle in his waste coat. I felt like he had decieved and betrayed David. I'm not sure if I read to much into the scene or if he actually lied about his terrible situation.
I need some input on this...I don't want to mislead myself. Any comments would be valuable.

Yes, don't mislead yourself. What type is Micawber? Think of him. He exaggerates everything all the time. He lives as if he were outside of things, in truth untouchable by anything external.
