Vulcan's Way
There are moments of pause
and heavy reflection
that serve to bring change.
Deep in the red hot bowels of the Earth
steam moves tectonic plates and release gossamer sprays.
It escapes through weak fractured stones
that have given way
and hiss into the light of day.
Old harbored anger - released at last,
spews forth toxic emulsions
scorching and disfiguring
emotions on the human terrain.
Until radical new view points emerge
on the surface and get imprinted
like rocky sepia negatives;
developed and forged from
warring fiery depths long ago.
