Those intereted in books and enjoying reading must have some books they never forget .
So what facor do you think is essential for such a kind of story ?
For me I have many stories , whether short or long , kept deeply in my mind . For example ,"Lilacs" by Kate Chopin, which I was moved by the "unexpected ending ", another famous story of hers : "The Awakening " ( a kind of feminist work )surprised me with heroine's unconventinal ideas on life ,ignoring her children .
One more story I would like to comment is "Twenty Days with Julian " by Hawthorne . It is very wonderful and warmful so much so I feel deep appreciation .
The good relationship between the author and his son brough me happiness.
I really would like to know your important , memorable ones you have ever read .

There are books I can never forget.
Among them there is one book in Romanian (my second language) - it is Steinhard called "The Journal of Joy" and, surprisingly, the story is about author's stay in communist prison, enduring lacks and having, at the firs sight, awful life experience. But the wonder which happens is his spiritual awakening.
The end of the story (chronologically taken end of the story) is when he is released and came home. His father (who lived in deep misery) tells hom the the hard part (from spuiritual point of view) is to come - he will have to live on freedom - he will have something to lose.
