My Aftermath

Life blinds me with pain,
It knocks me to the floor.
I’m soaked by the rain,
And I’m gazing at the shore.

The clouds overhead,
Are shaking with laughter.
As my happiness is shed,
My life starts to shatter.

The ocean flows,
And crashes on the rocks.
A seagull above crows,
From my battered boat in the docks.

They remind me of my past,
Wrecked by grief and despair.
The rain is falling fast,
Along with sadness in the air.

You used to be my love,
But you started to push me away.
And when push came to shove,
You left me heartbroken that day.

As my heart continues to bleed,
I wonder why you left me then.
Dying like an ill-nourished seed,
I never saw you again.

My gladness can return,
If you come back to me.
Only you can soothe my heart’s burn,
So that life will set me free.
