Like a Magician's trick, Spring has come
And the air is clear, once more,
The sun's light is renewed in the trees
And under every naked branch, green
Shines iridescently through what ended
Abruptly in another season- yet almost,
Imperceptibly we too have been changed
We are no longer quite the same- still under the shades
The youths shape those archaic geometries
Feeding that ancient fire, populating the dark hidden
Space, whom keeps all things in their rightful place
Where thoughts are born of that other, incomprehensible universe,
Far above their passing heads, and light years apart-
I too watch, the heavens knowing time moves on-
And even they, almost beyond it, shall yet be seduced eventually,
Back to the clay, someday, -but not today- they are free, momentarily
They will kiss, but more knowingly it seems-
As Spring disappears into Summer, like a Magician's trick.
